Jed Beney - Associate
Jed was born in the UK in the mid eighties, and moved to New Zealand shortly afterwards. Jed spent a year demolishing old houses and turning them into expensive recycled furniture, before heading to Albany to study accountancy for a couple of years. Jed then returned to Whangarei and spent some time working in one of Northland’s largest Accountancy firms, which proved to be good experience, both in a professional development sense and also in a lifestyle sense.
Jed made the move to a commercial role at Company Health Services Group where he has gained extensive experience in all areas of the business from the day-to-day debtors/creditors/payroll through to management and productivity accounting in his role as operations manager.
During his time at Company Health Services time Jed has also continued to complete client work for Austin and Associates.
Jed’s passion is English classic cars.
Rika Matsuno – BBus, Bus Dip, BA(JPN) - Associate
Rika graduated from Nagoya Women’s University in Japan before coming to New Zealand where she completed a Diploma in Business through Northland’s Polytechnic (North Tech) and then graduated from the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand with a Bachelor of Business. Rika has traveled extensively around the world before settling in New Zealand.
Rika has worked in several of Japan’s corporate entities, holding various roles in business and administration including the finance department in an advertising agency and NTT (the world biggest telecommunication company). In New Zealand Rika has worked for several SME’s and subsequently held a permanent accounting role at the New Zealand Refining Company. Rika has worked as an accountant for Company Health Services and has ongoing client work for Austin and Associates.
Rika’s passion is help Japanese people in New Zealand have an enjoyable personal and business life.
Gavin Austin, CA, Dip Acc, Cert Bus - Principal
Gavin graduated Certificate in Business from Northland Polytechnic and holds a Diploma in Accounting. He is a Chartered Accountant. Gavin held a number of finance positions during a twelve year term at NZ Post.
Subsequently he was an investigating officer at Inland Revenue, Office Manager for Rural Banking & Finance and Group Financial Controller at McBreen Jenkins, before moving to Northland District Health Board where he held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and General Manager Finance, HR and Commercial Services.
Gavin is currently the Northland Councillor (Board member) for the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, and CEO of New Zealand’s leading health, safety and wellness provider Company Health Services.
Gavin’s passion is Japanese performance cars.
